Luftwaffe Reinforcements

I managed to get some modelling done and I've added a Stuka to my Luftwaffe forces. This was an Airfix kit and frankly it was a joy. Good hard plastic, very simple assembly, just spot on. I'm not sure if this kit is currently available - the box is not in the red livery of the current generation of models, but as a wargaming piece it's top notch. More of that please.

I shall have to look up my colour references for the early Luftwaffe.   I'm hoping that this plane will see service in Poland, France, Britain and finish up at Kursk.

Looks great. I am assuming that appropriate noises were made during the posing of the photo!

  2. I like the Stuka but the painting of the hand is shockingly poor.

  3. Hi Conrad,

Please don't forget the use of the Stuka in places like Greece and Yugoslavia and its great role in North Africa supporting Rommel. I have to agree with you about the value of the Airfix models - they are definitely user fruiendly and inexpensive enough to allow them to be used on the battlefield.

I just need to add a flight stand now and it will be perfect.

  5. As for stukas good read would be Stuka Pilot by Hans Rudel. Very interesting. He shot up like 400 to 500 Russian tanks using the 37mm cannon version. He is also credited with sinking the Marat.
