Dear Conrad,
ReplyDeleteI believe that your picture conveys evrything that needs to be said about what we here in the US once called Memorial Day and now refer to as Veterans Day. The truly sad thing is that so many of our young people have no understanding or care for the memories of what your picture wants to recall.
Their concept of war is derived from the images on their video games and the occasional movie they watch. But real understanding of how horrible life in the trenches could be has slipped into a well of non-concern and ignorance. Would that it not be so.
Thank you for posting this reminder of what should be our focus and understanding on Remembrance Day.
