I can't think of name but I bet he's an ace dog fighter :)
ReplyDeleteGroan....
DeleteBeagles?
ReplyDeleteThere's been quite a few variations on Beagles. I like it.
DeleteSomething hyphenated. Definitely hyphenated. How about Wing Commander Reginald Woofington-Chew?
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Now that will be hell to stitch on a uniform.
DeleteA quick search shows 266 squadron was Rhodesian during WW2, so perhaps he's Wing Commander Ridgeback DFC ?
ReplyDeleteNow Joppy, that is far, far too sensible a suggestion.
DeleteWing Commander Hound (nickname Fox)
ReplyDeleteMrs Kinch just emitted a high pitched shriek of delight and started clapping.
DeleteThe Real Wing Commander Hound?
If it's 266 squadron, it must be Algy..
ReplyDeleteAlways glad to met another Biggles fan.
DeleteFirst thought that comes to mind is Snoopy the flying ace. Or some play on Biggles (Wing Commander Beagles?). Probably the wrong breed of canine.
ReplyDeleteBeagles is proving popular.
DeleteWhat breed of dog is that? It occurred to me if he was any kind of shepherd, there's your name;
ReplyDelete'Wing-Cdr "Shep" Sheppard'. Goes by the name call-sign as that of a certain D. Bader: 'Dogsbody'.
Not a bad idea. Never knew that about Bader.
DeleteBeagles of 266, of course.
ReplyDeleteOf course.
DeleteSeamus Kibblesworth?
ReplyDeleteI think that's his brother.
DeleteDoglas Barker?
ReplyDeleteI love this...but Mrs Kinch doesn't get it sadly.
DeleteSopwith. It's a good name for a pup....
ReplyDeleteBoom boom!
DeleteMuttley? Obviously he's cleaned up a bit since his villainous days!
ReplyDeleteHe was far better off in uniform. Made a dog of him.
DeleteLooks quite a bit likea modern incarnation of Anubis to me, not that you'd want to call him that.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't quite trip off the tongue.
DeleteWing Cmdr Hectors-House?
ReplyDeleteWing Commander "Barky" Airdale?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I have been thinking - off and on, you understand; I would not be thought of as obsessive, or anything - about the personnel of 622 Squadron, known as the 'Dogfighter Squadron'. I think we can just about retain 'Shep' Sheppard's Wing Commander rank, but how about these fellows:
ReplyDeleteSqn/Ldr James Beaglesworth
F/Lt Puggsley
F/O Foxe
F/O Staffordshire-Cross
F/Sgt Whippett
F/Sgt Barker
F/Sgt Huskey
F/O Poynter
F/Sgt Huntaway
F/Sgt Cocker
F/Sgt Colley
Cheers...
