Saint Patricks Day

Gentlemen,

I would like to wish you all a very happy Saint Patrick's Day. I've spent quite an interesting time preventing various members of the Kamikaze Pedestrian Club of Old Dublin Town fulfilling their ultimate destiny. I'd like to leave you with this traditional Irish air and hope that you all enjoy the holiday.

Regards,

Kinch

  1. I think that is the most heartfelt, emotional, tear inspiring version I've yet heard. True, the tears were result of laughter, but I much prefer this version to Val Doonican's 'Oirish' themed music, sung while staring off into the middle distance at waterfalls while wearing cable-knit jumpers.

Like most festivals these days, St. Pat's Day seems to be an excuse to sink copious amounts of alcohol, in this case Guiness, while wearing silly hats no matter what corner of the planet you live in or how much actual Irish ancestry you can claim.

  2. Conrad Kinch,

I have heard worse renditions of this song on a St Patrick's Day in and around the Kilburn area of London!

I hope that you managed to celebrate at some point.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. Conrad, a belated Happy St Paddy's Day from the Welsh.

I celebrated heavily yesterday. Not St Patrick's Day...the Grand Slam!

  4. Rosbif,

Thank you very much. I don't mind the Oirish to be honest - it's only when they start injuring each other that I really concern myself.

  5. Bob,

We did after a fashion, Mrs Kinch and I battened down the hatches and had a dinner of chops, before settling down for a movie and a glass of wine.

Thanks for posting this - it's a favourite clip at our house. The sad thing is that this is likely more coherent than some other versions being "sung" last night.
